In response to ongoing concerns from the public, and following a receipt of a petition from area residents requesting physical traffic calming on Council Ring Road, between Glen Erin Drive and Frankston Road, a traffic calming plan was developed for public consideration.
An online engagement session was conducted last year between November 2nd and December 4th, 2020 regarding potential traffic calming on Council Ring Road between Glen Erin Drive (south leg) and The Collegeway. Following the public comment period, the Transportation and Works Department has reviewed all the comments provided by the community and summarised the results.
A total of 110 responses were received from the community with 75 in favour (68%) in favour, and 35 (32%) opposed to the implementation of traffic calming on Council Ring Road.
Therefore, based on the comments received, there is sufficient support from area residents for the implementation of physical traffic calming measures on Council Ring Road, between Glen Erin Drive (south intersection) and The Collegeway.
You are invited to participate in a Virtual Community Meeting for the traffic calming on Council Ring Road. During this meeting Road Safety staff will discuss results of the Online Engagement Session, review the proposed traffic calming measures for Council Ring Road, and answer any traffic calming related questions.
